Can you believe that the fall season is almost upon us?! It’s time to give your home an A+ in style too! From cozy reading nooks to nature-inspired decor that will leave your guests green with envy, let’s take a look at some home design trends that will warmly welcome the upcoming fall (and back-to-school) season.
Cozy Study Nooks: With school back in session, now is the perfect time to create a designated study area that seamlessly integrates with your overall decor. Craft a stylish study nook by combining functional furniture with personal touches. A sleek desk paired with an ergonomic chair, adorned with a cozy throw becomes the perfect canvas for both focused learning and tasteful decor.
Nature-Inspired Decor: Some things never go out of style and natural materials are no exception. This year is all about bringing the outdoors inside. Add a sense of calmness and serenity to your living spaces by incorporating potted plants, rustic wood accents, botanical prints, and earthy color palettes.
Warm Color Palettes: Embrace the changing colors of fall by incorporating warm and earthy tones into your home decor. Think burnt orange, mustard yellow, deep reds, rich browns, and the season’s most anticipated shade…honey! These colors create a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for snuggling up during chilly evenings.
Natural Textures: Autumn is synonymous with comfort, and this year’s design trends embrace layers of textures. While experts are focused on textured wallpapers and treatments, we’re thinking soft area rugs, plush cushions, and natural furnishings like rattan or wicker to add dimension and comfort to your spaces.
Ambient Lighting: As the days get shorter, create a warm and inviting ambiance with soft, romantic lighting. Swap out bright overhead lights for table lamps, string lights, and candles. The gentle glow will add a touch of magic to your home.
Curious about the local real estate market? According to the latest available stats from the Sacramento Association of Realtors, the market is showing exciting trends for both buyers and sellers. The Sacramento Association of Realtors released their June real estate market report showing a 10.1% decrease in sales compared to May of this year.
“As we start to get into summer that’s often when we will see a little bit of slowing in the market,” said Luis Sumpter with the Sacramento Association of Realtors.
The median cost of homes also decreased slightly from $536,000 to $530,000. That’s a 5.4% decrease from June of last year.
Listing inventory increased from May to June by 9.2%. The average amount of days on the market for homes in the region fell from 8 days to 7 days. So, sales are stalling slightly, but are spending less time on the market.
Overall, all indicators are showing that we are still in a very healthy market. Watch the full video here to learn what’s in store for buyers and sellers.
